Our Beautiful Life

Havens new room

so as you can see i am very late on posting our halloween fun post and now it has been nearly a month since that! boy am i behind! A LOT has happened since my last post. Let me explain… I wrote the halloween post that night! I PROMISE and had every intention on posting it but i had a few more things i wanted to add so i clicked save and said to myself that i would finish it on Sunday after church. I got up that morning RUNNING! as i am sure all of you do because it just seems like Sundays are hard to get up, get dressed, figure out whats for lunch (which i sometimes don’t get to), get Haven dressed and get OUT OF THE DOOR! That morning had been hectic. Sometime during all of that i decided that i need to boil Haven’s bottle nipples and i left them there while i put on my makeup. BIG MISTAKE! as i got ready i completely forgot about the bottles and off to church i went. I never even thought about them one more time until… I got out of the car and i heard a beeping noise. i thought to myself, “whats that noise… that Stupid smoke alarm, OH MY GOSH>>>>>… I could not get in the house quick enough. When i got in poor Georgia was in the corner, shaking and ducked down! i felt AWFUL. needless to say we were out of our house for two weeks. I went to my mama’s for a week and then we stayed at the Cottles for a week. What sweet family and friends we have! Franks parents, GG and Pops, came over the next weekend to help paint and figure out what to do and Allison Barr and Tammy Forbus helped organize some MAJOR help from LaGrange (what a blessing it is to be here with such precious people!) and little did we know Beth Smythe was getting together an email to send out to all of our church organizing a “Stock our pantry” present. What a sweet surprise. Needless to say, if anyone needs elbow macaroni… i have it! my mama jokingly said she was coming to my house during the next depression! On top of all of the love, support and acts of kindness our precious church family and family and friends showed us, our incredible college kids did most of the painting in our house and IT LOOKS GREAT! Brent Addison, a professional painter/ perfectionist/ contemp. worship pastor/college student, was the ring leader. He made sure that Matt and Amelia, Melissa, and Catherine did everything correctly! they had to paint the fire place Three times! i thinks it because he felt guilty about spilling wax all over it the night before! :) (that’s too long of a story)

anyway, things are somewhat back to normal. we don’t have living room furniture yet, so if you come over please bring your lawn chair and be prepared to eat mac and cheese- hold the cheese:)

the following are pics of Haven’s new room- and decorated for CHRISTMAS! hope you enjoy!

Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween. It was our first “holiday” with Haven McKinnley and she was so much fun! She was a cat this year, and a very cute cat at that! I added a bow to her costume to assure people that she is def. a girl. We wouldn’t want anyone to confuse that. That afternoon we attended the Fall Festival at First Baptist LaGrange, where there was a great turn out! Hopefully we can have some of the visitors attend our church on a more regular basis. Thanks to Beth Smythe and a slew of volunteers, I can affirmatively say the Fall Festival was successful! Here is a pic of Sweet Haven at the festival. I laid her in the leaves for added fall effect :)

After the fall festival, we went to the Cottle household to watch the Georgia Bulldog/ Florida Gator game. Unfortunately the Bulldogs did not come up on top, but the fellowship was fun and the food was GREAT! We also got to see some trick or treaters while we were there and sweet Charlie was so funny answering the door. You’ll have to read Katie’s blog for the details of that! Beth Bland and Micheal Olsen were also there and later the Douhne’s joined us. We had a great first Halloween with our sweet girl and sweet friends.

Hello all!

Hello all!

I know! I know! it has been quite some time since we lasted posted and A LOT has happened over the last month that I will gradually catch you up with. For starters, WE MOVED! Yes! AGAIN. Frank says it was our final time. For those of you who have known us over the years, you may know that we have moved 8 times in our 7 and 1/2 years of marriage! Our family, especially, knows this because they always help! (thanks so much again) We moved to LaGrange, GA and WE LOVE IT! It already feels like home and we have only been here one month!

I am getting to stay home with Haven McKinnley and that has been such a joy! She is growing so fast and is already 2 months old! Where does time go? We have everything unpacked… kinda:) and will paint some rooms next week… any suggestions for paint colors?  I will post some new pics of Haven and the house sooner than later i hope!

poor kid… we are all pulling her in different directions! The only other outfit we have left to purchase is a Georgia Bulldog cheerleader outfit. Ily bought a TN sweater to match but it was too hot for pictures and Lo bought her an Alabama cheerleader outfit that hasn’t made it to Atlanta. To tell you the truth I hope it doesn’t! :) Sorry Uncle j and Aunt Lou, Haven will NOT wear any Ole Miss gear! Hotty NO Totty!
